Give Your Skin a Boost..
I woke up feeling rested and restored, but my skin didn’t reflect the way I was feeling. We’ve all been there at some point. I gave myself this beautiful treatment and loved the results so much, I just had to share it with you. If you want to have brighter, toned skin and improve dark circles or puffy eyes, this might just be the solution. 3 Steps to Bright eyes and, Luminous Skin..
Step 1
Skin Bight Exfoliant:
1/2 Fresh Papaya (fresh is best, but frozen will work as well)
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice (normal to oily skin)
or
1 tablespoon plain yogurt (normal to dry skin)
Skin and seed the papaya and place in a blender. Add the lemon juice or yogurt and blend ingredients together. Apply to your skin and gently rub in small circular motions to remove dull skin. Rinse with tepid water. This may tingle a little, but should not be uncomfortable. People with sensitive skin should use less lemon juice or yogurt, start with a teaspoon amount and add accordingly to what your skin can tolerate. This mixture should have a nice consistency, but not be too runny. Refrigerate leftovers, they will keep for about 3 to 5 days
Step 2
Nourishing Masque
Dried Ingredients
1/4 cup White Kaolin Clay
1/4 cup Dried Rose Petals
1/4 cup Dried Lavender Flowers
Liquid Ingredients
1/4 teaspoon Witch Hazel (normal to oily skin, only. Dry and sensitive types omit)
1/4 teaspoon Honey
Mix the dry ingredients together and store in a small jar. Add the liquid ingredients when you are ready to use this formulation. Add ½ teaspoon of your dry mixture to ¼ teaspoon each of honey and witch hazel. People with sensitive skin can use water instead of witch hazel. Make a smooth paste and apply a thin layer to your skin. Rest for 15 to 20 minutes and rinse with tepid water, use a washcloth and gently remove any residue away.
Step 3
Bye Bye Eye Bags and Dark Circles
This is iced tea season, and I’m making a new batch each day. I save the tea bags and use them as an eye masque while I’m resting with my nourishing masque. The best choices for puffy eyes or dark circles are Black or Green tea. Today I used Rooibos tea, which is really high in antioxidants, and had a great result. The tea rev’s up the microcirculation under the eye area, and improves the appearance of dark circles.
Another great remedy for puffy eye bags is to slice white potatoes thinly, and place slices over the eyes. Rest for 15 to 20 minutes.
Here’s to looking good and feeling good,
Tracey
